Cantus Planus 40: Anniversary Conference

Quadraginta annis! In 2024, it is forty years since the IMS Study Group “Cantus Planus” was founded in Veszprém (Hungary) by a distinguished group of plainchant scholars. Among them were the late Benjamin Rajeczky OCist, and the late László Dobszay and Janka Szendrei, who played a prominent role in the organization of the study group in the years that followed when Hungary hosted the conference series. The study group is delighted and honored that, following the decision of the Cantus Planus Advisory Board, this major academic conference on chant traditions and related fields is returning to Hungary after a decade and a half, for lively discussions and warm conviviality.
