Mission Statement
The IMS Study Group “Music and Media” (MaM) welcomes a broad variety of subjects, methodologies, and perspectives relevant to the interrelationship between music and media. It organizes an annual conference in a different country, each in cooperation with local initiatives. MaM was initiated by Emile Wennekes and launched in Amsterdam in 2009 as an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary forum. Subsequently, the IMS Directorium officially accepted MaM as an IMS Study Group.
